Michigan Voters chose to ban affirmative action in most government functions last November, which (like the still-non-existent Right-to-Work legislation) was long overdue.
Now several public colleges and universities are asking for a temporary stay so that students who applied under the old rules would still be judged by those rules. On the surface I say fine, but I have seen too many temporary things done by the government become permanent. Another question is why didn't these schools have a contingency plan in place? They knew the proposal was on the ballot and might possibly pass. Why didn't they plan for that possibility? A good leader creates contingencies for foreseeable problems and this doesn't say much for the schools leadership as they could see this "problem" coming.

Shoprat, I think you hit the nail right on the head when you said these things often tend to become permanent.
They will milk the temporary bit for as long as they can, then when "time's up" (if that ever happens), like all liberal run institutions do they'll bring it to a liberal appeals court where a liberal judge will legislate from the bench, circumventing the will of the voters.
Amazing how many will fight to keep racist policies in place.
Educated idiots. I was just thinking to myself before reading this. I have read different articles and always its the left side that points out race/color finances. I am to the point of screaming I get it already. Shut up and stop creating these problems.

I couldn’t agree with you more on “right to work” issue, never will happen up here UAW land. They knew the proposal was on the ballot and might possibly pass.. I pay attention to politics, the polls had this ballot initiative at a dead heat right up to election day. My opinion calls it as, wishful thinking on the part of the collage administrators.
Liberals, acting true to form will try to have an activist judiciary over rule the will of Michigan voters. George Hartwell, mayor of Grand Rapids was one of the first to pipe up and raise a challenge to the outcome, with tax payers funds no less. This idea was quickly rejected by City Commission.
After they set a precedent.... your screwed... it will be like a virus spreading threw the entire state...

Steven Sadly the UAW owns this state and I consider our previous GOP legislature RINOs because a real GOP would have passed "Right to Work" and neutered the super-corrupt UAW.
