A Letter Making the Rounds

Ordinarily I would say that a person's politics should never be a factor in employment, unless the political position would compromise the job performance.

However I have to sympathize with the writer of this letter.

Dear Fellow Business Owners

As a business owner who employs 30 people, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barack Obama will be our next President, and that my Taxes and Fees, will go up in a BIG way.

To compensate for these increases, I figure that the Customer will have to see an increase in my fees to them of about 8%. I will also have to lay off 6 of my employees. This really bothered me as I believe we are family
here and didn't know how to choose who will have to go.

So, this is what I did. I strolled thru the parking lot and found 8 Obama bumper stickers on my employees' cars. I have decided these folks will be the first to be laid off.

I can't think of another fair way to approach this problem. If you have a better idea, let me know.

I am sending this letter to all Business owners that I know.

Sincerely
XXXX
YYYY Corp.

I think it might even be illegal but I have little sympathy for those people. When a we know that a politician's policies will destroy businesses, then the people who put that cretin in power should be the first to pay for the damages.

I also need to emphasize that this is an emotional response, not a rational one. If the business owner were to ask me I would say that it's probably illegal even if I am sympathetic to him.

H/T to my brother who lives in Florida.

Nice, after all you should be careful what you wish for, you just may get it.

I don't care if it's illegal. I've already started doing it.

Well....it certainly would be fitting.

I don't care if it's illegal either. If I were employing more than just one person as I am now, I would probably do the same thing. Fair is fair!

I'm not sure if it would be illegal or not, but it would be unethical, for sure.

This is one of those silly letters that goes out all the time, like the one where Obama is really the Anti-Christ.

Jeez, get over it already.

All of you Reds better watch out: What if Dems go around firing McCain supporters after the election? I'm sure you would gripe about that when you condone the same thing.

Why don't you all just relax. It is not the end of the world as we know.

Tim: correct; it's not the end of the world because I firmly believe that Barack Hussein Obama is about to have HIS world completely and totally ROCKED come Wednesday morning.

Did I hear Tim volunteer to go to the front of the line?

Shoprat,
I love that scrolling graphic you've got at the top.

Would he rather put the names in a hat & draw them out? Or is that unfair too?

Actually, if the business owner doesn't have a Union shop and can fire people at will, he doesn't need to give a reason. He can just let people go, even if it could be unethical for him to choose the criteria.

I don't find it unethical. If the employees who he let's go actually voted for that socialist, then they asked for it.

I also agree with BZ. :)

Ah, the good old American way!!
Say, lets pull all the combat soldiers who vote for Obama out of the service. Lie at the scene of an accident until a PC GOP ambulance driver arrives. Let the toilet run over until Joe the Plumber can fit us in. Every election, we become puerile....

Don't lay them off, cut their wages enough to help pay for the other positions, let them live with their "spreading the wealth around" beliefs.

How weird..I posted a message from my buddy Morgan who has a small business in Florida...he says this very thing; how will his company survive when his wealthy clients don't have enough discretionary funds to hire him?
He'll have to LAY PEOPLE OFF.
it's so easy to understand...

for anybody but Obama and his sycophants.

The way I see this is that this is a war between John McCain and those that sit around helplessly whining and wanting everyone else to pay for their pathetic little lives....

Sounds a little unfair, but of course, a lot's not going to be too fair with the Dems in power!

I guess McCain lost the war, myself.
Looks like a landslide.
All of the Republicans that I voted for retained their offices, most importantly Oakland exec. L Brooks Patterson.
Thank goodness David Law(R) ( a convicted Drunk Driver) did not win Oakland county prosecutor.
Medical pot and Stem cell research passed, which is good.
I am pleased with how it all turned out.

SR-did you hear about the woman in Grosee Pte who refused to give out any Haloween candy to kids who supported Obama? Have Republicans really become that mean?

Thad McCotter (R), my congressman, won. He is a nice guy. I sat next to him on the plane coming back from Washington a couple of months ago. We both went to high school in Livonia and he is from that ethnic group in Livonia (Irish Catholic, blue collar Reagan Dems) that Mike Cox is a part of.
I hope Cox runs for Gov. in 2010.

LET THE HEALING BEGIN.

If business is to survive the coming rising taxes they will have to take measures. Removing those who are responsible for the higher taxes seems fair to me.
