The Hobbit

The Lord of the Rings trilogy was an unqualified hit around the world as Peter Jackson did what JRR Tolkien considered impossible and made a quality movie of the books.

Jackson earlier expressed interest in doing the prequel to LOTR, The Hobbit. This had been done earlier as a childrens' cartoon by Rankin/Bass. It was cute and enjoyable but not nearly as great as the movie.

Well Jackson will not be the director, but they are doing it! Jackson does not have the time to do it but wants it done. Whoever is chosen to direct the movie will be working from Peter Jackson's foundation.

Finally.

It will be a few years but I can't wait.
