Is It Coming?

As I read the news and blogs I am becoming more and more discouraged.

Socialism is on the march and it is nothing but a deadly disease that has the same effect on societies and nations that bubonic plague had on individual people. It is the killer of nations and societies. Yet Americans are lemming like in their determination to follow Europe down this road to ruin and self destruction. Europe is dying and is in denial about it and America will follow suit because we care more about what the European elitists think of us than what is really good for America's long term.

But I've always known that nothing lasts forever.

But perhaps there is hope and maybe, just maybe, these really are the last days and the King is coming. Christianity has always been largely about preparing one's self and helping to prepare others for Heaven and/or the return of our Lord.

One could go point through point through Revelation and parallel it to what is happening, yet so many have done that and been wrong, yet I am seeing patterns. Communism seemed to receive a deadly wound yet has lived on in alliance with a false prophet from Mecca (Revelation 13?). Much of the world seems to be uniting against the Christians and Israel (the two witnesses in sack cloth from Revelation 11?). I don't know and don't wish to say this is certainly what it means . . . and yet . . .

So many have interpreted Revelation and the other books of prophecy and been wrong, yet Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophecies made by the Hebrew prophets, many in ways that were totally unanticipated. God has something up His sleeve and I hope He acts soon.

You are right about socialism. I don't think I have ever read Revelation, so I can't comment about anything in it.

Well, considering we're coming very close to the point where more than 50% of us won't be paying taxes to the feds, it's going to get harder to convince those people that charging the minority for everything isn't the right course of action.

Unfortunately for us the folks pushing for more and more to be paid by for by less and less seem to be winning the battle right now. Once they do the exodus of corporations and jobs from the country will be stunning and swift, and everyone will be left to wonder what happened.

For those who think it won't happen, the European drug industry is the proof in the pudding. Only 30 years ago they developed nearly 75% of the worlds drugs. That number is below 20% now, as they've all moved on to greener pastures.

Considering the brain shift from the west to Asia, it's not hard to figure out where the US companies will be setting up shop.

I have read Revelation and more than once. It can be interpreted in many different ways, and has been. Theologians have studied it ever since the first Bible was written, and still can't agree on it's meaning, so I'm certainly not going to try to figure it out. Many in this world have always united against Christians and Israel. It isn't a new phenomena, but I believe we are personally more aware of it now because we are so involved in the middle east.

Just like you, Shoprat, I'm pretty depressed over the march toward socialism in America. It doesn't bode well for this country. Hillary claims she will force every American to get health insurance should she be elected president. I have to wonder what the difference is between that and dictatorship?

Socialism has always failed and always will. Well... perhaps if HIllary is elected it will unite the Republican Party at last. I have a feeling she won't be though. I think Obama will beat her just because folks like him. What a reason to vote for a President! Sheesh!

Why the long faces? Life is good. We all have jobs, the Sun rises every day and all is (mostly) right in our daily lives. I know you all are depressed that W will no longer be the president, but life will go on and the Earth will turn. I'll be voting for Obama or a Republican if Hillary wins.

Sometimes I too become disspirited. And Gayle is correct: nowhere on the planet has socialism been proven to work. Everyone in the United States can see precisely what has happened and is happening in Europe yet, despite this, those on the Left seem destined to repeat the same historical pattern as Europe experienced and is experiencing. Yes, correct, we do NOT learn from history, even when the evidence is directly before our eyes.

In defense of Europe, note at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quality-of-life_index eleven European
countries are ahead of us in terms of quality of life. 9 parameters are used, which could be arguable,
although things like divorce rate,
unemployment, life expectancy and GDP certainly seem valid. We need keep in mind that European countries are smaller and generally more homogenic than the US; semi-social policies serve some of them well. (I use semi-social, because some attributes of these countries, like lower corporate taxes compared to the US
hardly seem 'socialistic'.

bob, cp, bz and gayle Thanks

Tim Why are you still obsessed with Bush in the White House? He's not on the ballot this time and he did nothing to stem the march of socialism.

bbi Much of Europe also has a negative birth rate, even slower economic growth than we do, higher inflation and double digit unemployment, not to mention more riots and civil unrest (though a few European countries do have less crime but that is changing and not in their favor.)

Not obsessed with Bush. Some of your commentors still think he is the second coming, I just think he's the worst president since Carter. I guess I was just trying to tell you that things are way better than you think and that this particular post was dwelling on the negative. Don't worry, be happy. Also, I'd tend to agree w/.bbi that "socialism" is uplifting to these populations in Europe. Your retort about riots, civil unrest, etc. are weak when you look at the crime, corruption, a broken federal government that can't tackle issues the debt, social security, medicare, immigration, etc. Don't take this the wrong way, but I think maybe you should get off your high horse and relax and enjoy life a little more.

Weird. No one here mentioned Bush except for Tim. Well, you mentioned him but that was just in reference to Tim's comment. Seems to me Tim is the one who is obsessed. Strange... Now, because of Tim, I'm mentioning Bush! LOL!

Well, so be it then! I'm not sad President Bush is leaving the White House. I'm actually happy for the man. He has served his 8 years, and although I don't agree with all he has done - or hasn't done - he has managed to keep us safe. We should all be grateful for that! I would like someone even more conservative than President Bush to take his place but it obviously isn't going to happen, but we will survive. Republicans are not whiners or defeatests. We are fighters. We won't have to run to psychiatric clinics if we lose the election like many Dems did. :)

Gayle obviously hasn't been listening to Limbaugh,Hannity and Coulter lately, they are definitely whiners and defeatists :)

I doubt you're right, Revelation-wise, but I like the thought.
