What Motivates the Left?
Many are puzzled about the left's support for the Islamic Jihad, which would destroy them in a second if they ever gained power over the world. This article, well worth reading, from The American Thinker suggests that civilizations, like people, have self-destructive impulses and that the left is Western Civilization's destructive impulse. The left's sole purpose in existing seems to be to destroy our entire way of life and everything they do is aimed in that dirrection. They hate our religion, our economy and our values which uphold our entire way of life. An interesting theory. The key to defeating any enemy is understanding it and that includes the destructive left as well as Islamic Jihad.

Man, that's some real reactionary, paranoid stuff. I suppose a leftie could weave some crazy theory about right wing fascists destroying the US as well. Wow, where do you find this?
Did you actually follow the link and read the article Tim? You are right about the left being able to say that but that is beside the point. As far as paranoid goes, well, I don't know if I agree 100% with the American Thinker on this article, but it is food for thought. The contradictions in the extreme left's behavior and attitude does ask for an explanation. This article offers a suggested explanation. Think about it.
I think it was an excellent piece, and not to far off. He has the far lefts attitude nailed just about bang on.

Yes, I really did read it all. I'm not going to pick apart his arguements, but my view is that extreme rhetoric like that is just not conducive to any constructive dialogue. We are all Americans, and division is not an answer. You really think that the left WANTS to destroy our country? I could say that the extreme right would like nothing better than to destroy the middle class by presiding over the de-indusrtialization of America and sending all of our jobs to India and China. I couls also say that they are purposely trying to bankrupt the government under a tremendous debt load. The culture of death rhetoric is just something that I can't take seriously. Yes, it is paranoid thinking. This kind of talk led to the Oklahoma City bombing and fuels extreme right winger like the Christian Identity movement.
Well, it doesn't seem like a totally off-the-wall statement. Liberals do seem to despise everything "traditionally" American. Why or why not doesn't matter.
