Tax Relief For Me but Not For Thee

When McCain asked for a summer gas-tax holiday to give some relief at the pump and a little help for the economy it was derided as a stunt and a gimmick that would not help the economy. At the moment the tax-holiday appears to be dead.

Unless your going to the Democratic Convention in Denver.

They have a deal that will allow them to not pay any gas taxes while they're in town for the convention. This amounts to 40.4 cents per gallon which is about 1/10th the price of gas.

The government will forgo its cut for some of the party favorites, but not for the people who really need it or would benefit from it. Uncle Sam's cut always comes first even if you can't pay your bills.

One of the comments at the link says the GOP is doing the same thing. OK then the GOP legislators had better all vote for a tax holiday for everyone and not insist it's only for them.

Watch your wallet! 8)

Taxes will be going up, big time!

McCain needs to start getting tough, about Obama's appeasement, his postmodernism ... well, just about everything. The GOP is by no means out of the ballgame, but we need to start playing hardball. The media's certainly in the tank for Obama...
