Meanwhile in Europe

Two stories of interest from Europe today.

The first regards the European economy; it seems that the euros are quite happy to have a "stable" unemployment rate of 8.3% but the two big "powers" of the European Union have very high unemployment rates. France is 9.3% and Germany is 10.9%. (Michigan's roughly 7% seems horrible to me.) Compared to Europe, America's economy is booming. They need to be taking economic lessons from us, not us from them.

Secondly
Morally speaking, maybe -- just maybe -- there is hope for Sweden. A drama student read pornography to a group of 6 year olds and the Swedish legal system actually fined him. His fine was 2400 krona (crowns) which, if I understand the charts right, works out to about $300.00. If an American read pornography to 6 year olds ...
