PETA Actually Comes Up With Something

Ah PETA. Those people who think that it's alright to kill an unborn child for personal convenience but have conniptions if someone kills an animal for food. At best they are children who don't have a clue of how the world actually works and at worst they demean humanity. But they have an entertaining way of advertising their beliefs.

They have a game where you throw snow balls at people they dislike. Now some of them, such as Madonna and the Olsen twins I can maybe enjoy it, but hey it's just snowballs right. It is somewhat troubling to see their disrespect for the dead (ie Charlton Heston) and you have to throw snowballs at Sarah Palin too. I got all the way through it, which isn't hard.

Play the game if you wish but be kind; pass on giving them any of your hard earned dough. Pass on "Getting Active" too. There are enough real problems in the world that we don't have to pretend to believe that Bambi actually portrays the truth about the lives of animals.

Has PETA made a statement on abortion?

I'm curious. You never know when the right sets up its straw man arguments, once in a thousand the right may actually be correct.

As a group I can't say for sure, but, based on local personal interaction with this group, individual members have come out and insisted that there was no inconsistency and others have insisted that we are hypocrites about supporting the sanctity of life for unborns while not supporting the sanctity of animal life. My response to that is that there is a natural hierarchy of sanctity and meat-eating is part of the nature of this world; predators are part of the picture and we are predators.

There are probably individual members who do oppose abortion.

(Personally I oppose killing or harming higher animals for fun, vanity or folly, but killing is acceptable for food, sanitation, or culling a herd where there are inadequate natural predators.)

I'd have to say Planned Parenthood by a mile. At least PETA's hands are not filthy with the blood of Unborn Children.

Ducky, you know that most of these people are the "save the whales, kill the babies" crowd. Would like to do a poll among them on abortion? Your an honest man, would you be surprised if they are overwhelmingly pro-abortion?

I do agree wih you shoprat though in that I am not a big fan of hunting solely for sport or vanity (fur coats). I am all for using animals for food but I don't think having respect for them is too much to ask.

You pretty much summed it up, Shoprat. Kill babies, save pets.

I love animals too, so it's sad that we can't give. I was watching Noah Wiley make a tear jerker commerical for the WWF, where a baby polar bear jump in the water off the melting polar ice. Nowhere do they mention that the science as to WHY this is happening is controversial.

I'm starting a new anti-PETA organization called, APETA: American People for the Ehtical Treatment of Americans. PETA members are not welcome.

Merry Christmas! See you when I get back!
