Say Good-Bye to a Landmark

Picture London without Big Ben

Picture Paris without the Eifel Tower

Picture NYC without the Statue of Liberty

The ballfield that was homefield to greats like Ty Cobb, Al Kaline, Mickey Cochrane and others, was homefield to the Lions back when they actually knew what a goal post was for, is soon going to be history.

I have only been to Tiger Stadium a few times and the last time I went I was in college. I have yet to be in either Comerica Park or Ford Field, but I hope that these fields will one day be as rich and colorful in history as Tiger Stadium was.

Geeze, that seems kindof sad Shoprat. Especially with everything else going on up there. Replaced by condos...sigh.

Have to echo what LP said ... your state is really taking the hits.... sheesh, there has to be something that's gonna break out.

Why is it condos seem so progressive to so many folks. This is bs, pure and simple! And why are they building condos when people are leaving the state? It doesn't make any sense! :(

SR-Have been there many times. It is falling apart and needs to go. We cannot hang on to every piece of history in Detroit. It is a dead building, a goast. Comerica Park is far superior. I had your same reservations until I saw a game there. It is wonderful.
Condos are a good use of the real estate. Now it is simply an empty shell taking up space, and an eyesore.
