Vandalism
Service isn't the best because of poor planning (They have set up to handle one customer at a time and the next doesn't start until the current is finished.), but ice cream is great and the price is right too. Trouble is you wait in line too long so you need to hit them when no one else is there (good luck). Still they are good, hard working, salt-of-the-earth people.
Saturday night, after they closed, some (presumably) local (presumably) kids threw rocks through all their windows just for kicks. Well their "fun" caused this couple to lose two days of business, to have to replace all their windows, and they also had to replace every bit of food because of the danger of glass particles contaminating the food. Yes insurance would cover it, but that's beside the point.
I hope those kids really enjoyed breaking those windows because it brought joy to no one else.
Why do people do stuff like this?

For the life of me, I will never understand that kind of thing.
Foolish children...
My guess is they've never been taught real love for their elders.
vandals seem to have, due to the lack of any ability to create, a feeling of power by destroying the work of others.
And they continue because, unlike New York City, not too many other places understand the broken window model.
I will never understand this kind of behavior. I understand taking risks and getting kicks but not at the expense of someone else.
The pool I go to every summer is run by hard working people and pools (at least in the KC area) have a very hard time making a profit. It is very family friendly and I love it but every year they have teenage vandals that break in at night. They have tried everything but the police can only do so much and the parents of these teens obviously don't seem to care what hooligans their kids are turning out to be.
It is very discouraging and I will never understand it.
