A Movie About Religious Terrorists.
Yup, it's being released.
A movie about religious fanatics who killed over a hundred innocent men, women and children in the name of their God at the urging of blood-thirsty leaders. The name of the movie is September Dawn and it is about a historical terrorist action by a group of people whose religion does start with an M. They also practiced polygamy.
Mormons.
Nobody, including the Mormons, is denying that the massacre took place. The Mormons consider it a shameful episode in their church history.
The thing is that the Mormons have not, as a group, killed anyone in the name of their religion for quite some time (excluding lone crazies that every religion has).
I am not justifying Joseph Smith or The Book of Mormon, in fact I think the Joe Smith and Mohammad were cut out of the same cloth using the same pattern, but one was more successful than the other. However, over the years the Mormons have eased up on the craziness and have become morally and culturally respectable, if not theologically sound. They are no longer plotting to take over the world (if they ever were.)
This was a safe movie for Hollywood to make because modern Mormons don't kill people who insult Joe Smith or Brigham Young. It would have taken real courage to make a similar movie about Mohammad; a courage that is missing in Hollywood today. After all, it is his spiritual descendants that are threatening the entire world today.
I believe that both Mohammad and Joseph Smith were false prophets, but one is not quite the threat to our lives, property and freedom that the other is.

they are a threat to themselves if you put "salvation" into the equation - the Lord wishes that NO PERSON/MAN perish, but have everlasting life.
these people have a death wish no matter how violent OR peaceful they are.

I think this is a Hollywood attempt to discredit Romney, Shoprat. Shame on them! As far as Hollywood being honest, using "Hollywood" and "honesty" in the same sentence is an oxymoron. It will take a truly honest person who is not a coward to produce an honest movie about Muslims. I doubt if anyone will do it. I also hope I'm wrong. Where would the producer find a director and enough actors with cajones?
