A Modest Proposal

Our fearless (or in his opinion peerless) leader is going to create some jobs here. He is going to create 600,000 of them. A 787 billion dollar spending plan that will create 600 thousand jobs.

hmmm A little second grade arithmetic.

787,000,000,000 รท 600,000 = 1,311,667. $1,311,667 per job created? How much do these jobs pay? Now clearly some of them will require materials and other support but that much? Where is the money going to go?

I have a proposal. Give me and a few of my acquaintances a mere one million each and some time to think and plan and talk with people who know what they're doing. One year from now we will have created five to ten (or even more) decent paying jobs per million invested than the government will.

But then the money will not be going into the pockets of the Obamassiah's friends and cronies. It will instead be going to the people.

Obama would do far better if he'd just fly around the country in Air Force One and throw the money out! At least it wouldn't be wasted.

Actually I saw an article today and now they are saying a couple of other things about this.

Approximately 125,000 of them are temporary summer jobs

They are alos now saying they will create or save 600,000 jobs. It's an accounting trick. He can come back in the fall and say 400,000 should have beenm lost that weren't so he saved those jobs, no way to ever confirm the varacity of it.

Further, stats between the two most recent months indicate a clear numeric LOSS of TWO MILLION jobs. And then Mr Obama claims a net CREATION of jobs in complete contradiction of official GOVERNMENT statistics?

Hmm. Gimme a second. I'll do some Obama Job Creation on my own. Wait. Wait. Wait for it. . .

There.

I just created 100,000 more jobs.

Prove I didn't.

I was assuming for the sake of argument that the jobs really do exist to demonstrate how ridiculous the whole thing is.

Give me my $1,311,667 and I won't worry about a job. See how easy that was? Someone else can have the job I didn't use.

WE are paying those part time summer workers! WE ARE!
we're all hearing how bad the unemployment numbers are but who the heck would HIRE people with this kind of economic climate? I wonder how many really HAD to be let go and how many owners are laying off 'just in case' things get as bad as they could under this president?

Shoprat, you're right...you'd do FAR better; imagine if THE ONE had brought in Romney or Gingrich or others who actually know something about America and our economic system and what's worked? So far, there is no indication of this. Some bipartisanship

I like your math!!!-
The $$$ would stay in our pockets-we would create--make more $$$$$-spend them on products and concepts that others create and so on!...it sounds like FREEDOM and its off-spring-capitalism :-)

What I could do with a million dollars!

Where is the money going to go?

As you pointed out, Shoprat, we know where the money is going to go!

The temporary-jobs aspect is a further outrage.
