A Phoney Katrina Victim

A woman from Mason Michigan claimed to be the victim of Katrina and received quite a bit of assistance from local people. The problem was that she was lying about being a hurricane victim and she was caught. The punishment handed down to her is appropriate for the most part; but I think they are asking her to explain and apologize to the wrong people. She should not be explaining and apologizing to school kids here in Michigan. She should be explaining and apologizing to the real hurricane victims.

She claimed that she was actually running from an abusive relationship and lied because she was desperate. There is enough support for women in that position that she did not have to lie. She deserves the punishment she got and more.

You've just got to shake your head and wonder what is wrong with people.

We had a woman come to our church that was friends with some people that already went to our church so we thought we knew enough about her. She told everyone she had cancer and was dieing and that her husband died a year ago. She had 4 kids and so everyone chipped in to help with money, donations, babysitting, etc... Many were contemplating adopting her children since she said she had no family for them to go too. Then it turned out that she had lied about the whole thing and didn't even have cancer. I have to admit I was very shocked that someone could do that. Unbelievable!!! And the audacity to think that no one will catch them.

This is unforgivable. I have also heard of people trying to scam on 9/11. Person goes to Utah to lay low while the family says he died in the towers...

The punishment has to be a lot higher for these types of things. Ultimately, the real people that suffer are the good charities.

If she hadn't been a moonbat she would have gone to the proper sources for help. My church will help anyone in need, and so will most others. Also, what about a abused women's shelter? They are abundantly strewn all over this country. Even the little town I live closest to has one!

Nope... no morals, no conscience, and no brains. Moonbat for sure!

I agree pretty much with all of you. I cannot believe a person could be so absorbed as to steal charity meant for others.
