Memories - - Foxes

I haven't done a memories posting in while and at one time I figured on doing one every Thursday. It is Thursday so let's do one.

I want to talk about foxes, not the four legged creatures that roam the edges of civilization but the two legged variety that is the mark of a truly human place.

25 to 30 years ago, for those who were born last week and don't know, a "fox" was an attractive woman or girl. It's still heard on golden oldie stations with songs like Foxy Lady or to lesser degree, Sweet's song Fox on the Run. Of course it was a compliment to say a girl was "foxy" and you saw lot's of tee-shirts that proclaimed its wearer a "fox".

In a comment to an earlier posting I was asked if I ever had a crush on Marcia Brady from the Brady Bunch. Now while Maureen McCormick (the actress who portrayed her) definitely qualified as a fox I never really had a thing for her. In fact it wasn't until I was in my 20s (and I am within a few months of her age) that I even heard much guys having a crush on her.

So did I have a crush on any TV starlets? Of course I did.

We of course remember Charlie's Angels (and I am talking about the original series, not the recent movies) and it included three gorgeous ladies who each qualified for the word "fox". Now of course it was Farah Fawcett-Majors who got all of the attention but I didn't understand why. Sure the (then) wife of the Six Million Dollar Man was a looker, but she was not the best looking on the show. That honor belonged to Jacqueline Smith who played Kelly Garrett. My heart skipped a beat whenever the camera went to her. Even though she is ten years my senior, I thought she was beyond beautiful, almost perfect in her beauty. When she made a cameo in the 2nd Charlie's Angels movie I thought she still looked darned good.

For a (then) young lady a little closer to my age (about 3 years younger than myself) there was a young woman who is now all over the tabloids for the weight she has lost. Valerie Bertenelli was the younger daughter in the old sit com One Day at a Time and even though she didn't get a lot of official attention, her cute little face decorated a large number of lockers and bunkrooms when I was in the Navy. She came across as the perfect combination of beauty and the girl next store. It's a little embarrassing to admit, but I had a major crush on her when I was, 17, 18, or 19 - - somewhere in that range. I was disappointed when she married that rock star. (If you open the picture it becomes much larger and reminder of just how cute she used to be - - - or as we used to say "a little fox."

Of course we need to have at least one Sports Illustrated bikini model (and at least one blond) to make this complete. I remembered the poster but believe it or not I had to look up her name. It was Cheryl Tiegs. Several years older than myself, this fox decorated the wall of my bedroom when I was in my early 20s. In fact it was this poster that I had. I don't know what became of her (or my poster of her), but I notice something. Bikini models come and go but those with talent beyond just their looks are remembered. She was definitely a fox but unfortunately foxiness does not last forever - - nor does the word.

Of course there were numerous others and you could write all day about them. Susan Dey who played Laurie Partridge, Bo Derek who was quite pretty but couldn't act for beans - - but matured into an impressive and still attractive lady. Of course Daisy Dukes, Michelle Phillips, Marie Osmond . . . the list goes on and on and on.

Back to serious stuff maybe tomorrow.

A Lost Word

Some words are badly abused.

If a word is stretched to mean anything it means nothing.

A word that has totally lost its meaning is Fascism.

We use the word to describe any police state that isn't communist or socialist. This is not correct at all. Fascism is at its root more than a police state and military government.

It's the belief that the individual is subsumed by the state and exists for the sake of the state.

The government is governed by those believed most able to effectively lead the state.

The real curiosity is the economic policies of Fascism.

In Communism the state owns and controls all industry and production.

In Capitalism the individual owns and controls his own property, possibly including industry and production.

In Fascism the individual owns the property but the state decides what he is going to do with his property.

He may own the land but the state tells him if he can, or even must or must not, build something on it. He may own the factory but the state tells him what to make, how much of it to make, how to make it, how much to pay the employees, and how much profit to keep. The idea is to force industry to co-operate for the benefit of the state rather than compete for the benefit of the individual.

Read the link. It is interesting and says some very troubling things about our "anti-fascist" left and leaves one wondering who the real Fascists in America are.

We sometimes need to go back to the original thinking the led to a word and consider things.

Fascism's true meaning is not the publicly accepted meaning.

Old Musicians

Not all musical acts fade away with the years.

Some for better or worse hang on for many years. Some of them continue to produce exciting new music and some just hang around.

A few years ago an editorial cartoon showed a future Rolling Stones concert where Mick Jagger yelled "Let's Rock!" from a rocking chair surrounded by whithered looking oldsters with musical instruments also sitting in rocking chairs.

Another cartoon showed a middle-aged couple sitting at the table talking to someone off the panel saying "Yes we know the Rolling Stones are in town and you want to see them but we're not paying that much for your birthday present - - -DAD!"

This is a case by case situation.

Some of them, though a little long in the tooth, can still rock with the best of them (and to be honest, I would sooner see some of them in concert than a lot of contemporary musical acts.)

Others should have retired years ago and still others should have never started.

Now German critics are taking these "wrinkled rockers" to task for still performing when they are old and . . . Wait a minute . . . are we here to hear music up close and personal or are we here to see beautiful people on stage?

In the end it will be ticket sales that decide.

How Did Jesus Do It?

How should we evangelize?

There is a meeting of the "World Council of Churches" going on in France this weekend. They are grappling with the question of when does Evangelizing cross the line and become wrong. A Reverend Hans Ucko suggests we not target children or vulnerable populations.

He accidentally gave himself away:

Ucko conceded that "This is a major problem, not only with Christianity, but with Islam." So what do you do about it? "We may have to reconsider today...whether these theologies, which originated in times when we did not come across one another, whether these are theologies that are really what we believe."

Think about that! Is this Christian Theology what we believe? The words of Jesus Himself?

Targeting vulnerable populations? Jesus went straight to the vulnerable populations. He fed the hungry, healed the sick, forgave and reclaimed the lost, brought love to the unlovable and hope to the hopeless. After He met their needs He often preached to them. The vulnerable populations are the populations that not only are most open to Christianity, but are also the ones who need it the worst. This Reverend Ucko feels that we should not preach to those whose needs are the greatest.

How very different from Jesus, the Apostles, and the Hebrew Prophets, all of whom preached to whoever needed to hear it.

If a person clearly does not want to hear the Gospel, then simple courtesy is to go elsewhere, but the only people we should not be preaching to are those who think they already know or have made it clear that they have no desire to know.

I don't mind interfaith discussions and dialog, but in the end two contradictory statements and two contradictory religions can't both be right. Tolerance means we do not kill each other or destroy each other's property or places of worship and do not interfere with their worship services. It does not mean that we pretend to believe that they are right in their own way. But inter religious conflict should be settled by debate and good deeds, not murder and destruction.

Believing they are wrong does not mean we dislike them as people or that we hate them. It simply means we believe they are wrong.

Really Weird Sexual Harassment

The Bloviating Zeppelin has a posting on a very absurd sexual harassment situation and he is right about that.

The sexual harassment police need something better to do.

Perhaps dealing with some sexist monkeys in Kenya. It does appear that a particularly savage and brave troop of monkeys are really giving a Kenyan village a very hard time. They are stealing food and harassing their women.

"The monkeys grab their breasts, and gesture at us while pointing at their private parts. We are afraid that they will sexually harass us," said Mrs Njeri.

I have never heard of monkeys doing that before but I'm sure the politically correct enforcers will be right on it. I mean if they have time to bring felony charges against juvenile horseplay, they certainly have time to do this.

Oh, and the people are not allowed to kill or harm any of these monkeys. Government orders. (Even though some have had to abandon their homes.)

A Good Reason Indeed.

Chinese Policy Jumps the Shark.

To be right up front, I do not believe in re-incarnation.

But in the event that it were true, neither the person nor the society he is part of could control it. The controlling agent would not be part of our world.

Not in China.

China has passed rules regulating how a person may be re-incarnated.

"an important move to institutionalize management of reincarnation."

Now this is primarily so that they can select the next Dalai Lama.

Next they will try to tell Jesus when and how to return.

Maybe they will try to dictate the actions of the Holy Spirit.

They have no idea of what they are getting into.

Letting It Go.

They speak of 15 minutes of fame. You're briefly famous for this or that and then it's over; you go back to an ordinary life and are quietly either forgotten or remembered by a very few.

For someone who does something heroic or a "one hit wonder" musician it's not that big of a deal, you simply return to the life you once had.

For people whose entire life is being a celebrity it's not that easy. For these people an adoring public defines them and apart from that public they have no true self. Hence the struggle to remain relevant as a celebrity. I see it in the daily struggles of several young starlets as they struggle to remain relevant in today's entertainment world. I think part of their problem is that there is that they have no "true self" apart from their celebrity persona, and if they lose their celebrity they lose all sense of self-worth and become nobody. That is why Madonna needs to forever re-invent herself. Others simply do shocking things in order to get and hold attention they so badly crave and need.

I think they would be happier if they just let it go.

There was an entertainer when I was 10-14 years old, probably very few who born after 1960 remember him, but his name was Bobby Sherman. His career was a flash in the pan and when I was in Jr. High he adorned the lockers of countless female classmates of mine. He really wasn't a super-good singer, though he was better than I'll ever be, and as celebrity does, his died in the early 70s. He did not struggle to keep it but knowingly and willingly let it go, beyond occasional cameos in shows like Love Boat, Fantasy Island etc. After a while he acknowledged that he was enjoying life more and he eventually became an EMT and today he feels that his life is more fulfilled than he was as every teen-aged girls dream date. He now has a real life.

I can think of several young celebrities who need to look at this man as an example.

For those who haven't heard of him, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if you haven't, I include this video of him. Like I said, he was an okay, but not phenomenal singer. The song is Easy Come, Easy Go which I felt is appropriate considering what I am talking about.

As I also said earlier. Some young celebrities with serious issues need to seriously think about what this man discovered.

A Crisis Per Decade

1960s -- Overpopulation! Famines by the mid-70s!

1970s -- A new ice age! Crop failures and famines real soon!

1980s -- Acid Rain! The rain would eat through and kill everything! We're doomed!

1990s -- Hole in the ozone layer! We're all going to get cancer and die!

2000s -- Global Warming! We're doomed I tell you! . . Doomed!

What's next?

Problem is when a real crisis hits these idiots will be the last ones to notice.

Legitimate Human Rights Abused

Parents have a human right to raise their children according to their traditions, values and customs, but like all human rights it includes responsibilities. When the responsibilities are not met along with the rights, then the rights will be abused.

It's troubling when parents instill horrible beliefs into their children and some would use this as an excuse to have the state exercise greater control in how children are raised. This would create more problems than it would solve.

So what do you do when parents instill a horrid set of beliefs in their children and how to you rescue the children who have been raised wrong?

I include the following video with extreme trepidation because it is not pretty at all, especially when you listen to these two potentially cute, young teen aged Nazis sing and what they are singing. Equally disturbing is how, except for the words of their song, they come across as typical young teen aged girls.

As I watched it I felt absolutely no contempt for these two girls; they are singing what they have been taught to believe. I pity them but God have mercy on whoever molded them when they were young because I have a very hard time doing it.

Now before we say too much about this Prussian Blue please think about this. While they have been taught to hate non-whites how many kids today are being taught to hate whites, Christians, moral traditionalists and America itself? It's all part of the same problem.

May Lamb and Lynx Gaede (the singers of Prussian Blue) find the true Christ of true Christianity, and may His love liberate them from the hate that others have poured into their young hearts. They are not beyond the reach of the Son of God.

Note: I came to this video following a trail of links that started at Brainster's Blog. I'll give him an indirect Hat Tip since he started me thinking about this.

I repeat my earlier question. How do we combat this without giving the state power over how we raise our children? This is unacceptable and the state telling people how to raise their children is equally unacceptable. What do we do?

One Language for One People

Two stories are amongst many involving those who speak only English.

A Florida businessman who lost his lease because he speaks only English. While the landlord has the legal right to do this, it is sickening nonetheless.

Illinois teachers are being transfered all over the place because they don't speak Spanish.

A while ago I suggested this and I wish to reiterate that suggestion.

A needed Amendment for our Constitution.

English is the official language of the United States and all citizens shall be expected to be reasonably fluent in proper spoken English and those who are old enough are responsible to gain a reasonable degree of literacy in the English language. (The states are required to offer training in both the spoken and written English language). All routine functions of the federal government shall be in English. All official federal, state and local documents shall be written in English, though official translations into other languages may be made available for visitors and recent immigrants who have not yet become fluent in English. Reasonable knowledge of the English language shall be considered a requirement for immigrants seeking citizenship.

The individual states, by public referendum or by legislative (but not judicial) means, may choose to grant official recognition to another language that is common within that state but that language still must be suborned to English.

It is the absolutely mandatory responsibility of all immigrants to learn and become fluent users of English. It is not our responsibility to learn a dozen new languages.

Now how do we get this into the Constitution when the GOP is afraid to offend anyone and the Democrats are controlled by those who don't want English to be the official language? We have a real problem.

My Temperament

Four humors supposedly define our temperament.

What is yours? Mine is

According to Galen's ancient theory of temperaments, people with phlegmatic temperaments seek peace and resolution in their everyday lives. Sympathetic, kind and adaptable to different situations, they often act as mediators in conflicts--and are often known for their dry sense of humor.

Often shy and reserved, those with phlegmatic temperaments may react slowly to things. Once they get going, they often display a strong will and a well-developed sense of responsibility.

famous phlegmatics: eleanor roosevelt, charles dickens, gandhi, and obi-wan kenobi.

What's your temperment?

Another Press Blunder

An elderly woman says her house was shot at and holds up the bullets as proof.

Now what is wrong with this picture? I can understand a totally uneducated person who knows even less than I do about firearms making such a mistake, but the professional news agencies who printed her claim and posted these pictures as fact should know better. Of course since she is blaming Americans in general and indirectly blaming Bush, we naughty Americans are not to criticize her as the only valid criticisms are criticisms against conservatives and the right.

The Dead Sometimes Live Again.

My employer tanked a few weeks ago, as you know, but oh . . . we of little faith.

A potential new owner or partner wants the plant - - and the experienced crew - - for his own needs.

It is far from certain and will be week or two yet before we go back on but I am stunned.

This is the second time that this plant has come back from the dead in the last few years.

(It was "permanently" out of business for a few weeks in 02 as well.)

A Movie About Religious Terrorists.

Yup, it's being released.

A movie about religious fanatics who killed over a hundred innocent men, women and children in the name of their God at the urging of blood-thirsty leaders. The name of the movie is September Dawn and it is about a historical terrorist action by a group of people whose religion does start with an M. They also practiced polygamy.

Mormons.

Nobody, including the Mormons, is denying that the massacre took place. The Mormons consider it a shameful episode in their church history.

The thing is that the Mormons have not, as a group, killed anyone in the name of their religion for quite some time (excluding lone crazies that every religion has).

I am not justifying Joseph Smith or The Book of Mormon, in fact I think the Joe Smith and Mohammad were cut out of the same cloth using the same pattern, but one was more successful than the other. However, over the years the Mormons have eased up on the craziness and have become morally and culturally respectable, if not theologically sound. They are no longer plotting to take over the world (if they ever were.)

This was a safe movie for Hollywood to make because modern Mormons don't kill people who insult Joe Smith or Brigham Young. It would have taken real courage to make a similar movie about Mohammad; a courage that is missing in Hollywood today. After all, it is his spiritual descendants that are threatening the entire world today.

I believe that both Mohammad and Joseph Smith were false prophets, but one is not quite the threat to our lives, property and freedom that the other is.

I'd Be Richer than Bill Gates

If I collected ten million dollars every time a fast food joint screwed up my order I probably would be.

This is beyond absurd.

Not only should the case be thrown out of court but their attorney should lose his license to practice law.

If you can't see cheese on hamburger before you bite it, or taste it before you swallow it, you have a real problem and it's not one a lawyer or lawsuit can fix. If you would represent such an idiot in court then you are nothing but a money-grubbing cretin.

The attorney's name is Timothy Houston and he needs to be disbarred. Bringing a case for this amount for this offense to court is morally criminal. We will not see an end to this until lawyers like this are held accountable to America at large. These lawsuits don't hurt the rich in the least (they merely pass it on to others) but it destroys jobs and encourages laziness.

An Honorable Muslim in Danger

Yes there are Muslims with a sense of honor and decency.

And there is a price for such honor and decency to be paid at the hands of the Jihadists.

Mohammad Sarwar, Labour MP for Glasgow Govan since 1997, was the first Muslim to be elected to the House of Commons and he demonstrated his loyalty to his religion. He is now declining to run again in the next election because of death threats from his fellow Muslims.

What did he do?

The story is in the link above and I do not wish to write it out but the long and short is that Kriss Donald, an innocent 15 y/o Scottish boy, was kidnapped and tortured to death by 5 Muslims for no clear reason other than he was an infidel. Three of them fled the country and Mr. Sarwar, to his credit, legally pursued them, pushed for and got their extradition. What has happened since in his own words.

“Life is not the same since I brought them back…I received threats to my life, to murder my sons, to murder my grandchildren…I was told they wanted to punish my family and make a horrible example of my son… they would do to him what they did to Kriss Donald.”

Please note that these death threats do not come from "right wing racists" and "British Nationalists" but his fellow Muslims.

Mr. Sarwar
You are a good and honorable man and deserve a better religion than Islam. You need to think about that. I suggest you read the words of Issa bin Allah; they're in the New Testament. You might be surprised at what God is really like.

H/T a comment at Jihad Watch.

It's also sad that whenever a Muslim does the right thing he or she faces death threats or death. Just ask Anwar Sadat.

The Other Terrorists

It seems that Islamic terrorists aren't the only game in town when it comes to terrorizing people.

Animal rights activists are becoming more and more dangerous, though not yet as effective. It used to be that they sought to avoid harming people but that is no longer the case. Fortunately their efforts to save animals by hurting people have been marred by severe incompetence but it is only a matter of time before they kill someone. They used to destroy property (which was bad enough) but now some have taken to attacking people with the apparent intention to kill.

“I think the animal-rights movement has been way too slow in taking radical actions,” he says. “And they’ve been way too nice.” Let's see. They've destroyed other peoples' property and now are trying to kill people. That's way too nice. I'd hate to see what is considered going too far.

I find it curious that these people who support this activity will oppose those who violently oppose abortion (by the way I do NOT support the killing of abortion providers or destroying their property even though I consider abortion to be a crime against humanity; there are better ways to stop it.)

Don't misunderstand me. Pointless torture of animals and causing them pain or killing them for simple fun is unacceptable and should never be tolerated but testing life-saving techniques for saving human, and other animal, lives is a necessary evil. Those who have no regard for human life will ultimately show no regard for animal life either. All life is sacred but human life is far more sacred than animal life and people must come first. If you don't believe that then you and I have nothing to discuss.

My "Ideal" Job

I just spent the day in Flint (a major Michigan city) being tested and counseled for my job search.

A combination of my personality, interests and and intelligence combined to give what they think would be the perfect job for me.

I am non-aggressive and am fairly passive, doing best in a low competition environment. I am curious about just about everything. I have a good memory. I function best in a well-ordered environment. Information seems to be my key interest.

They decided I would probably be happiest as . . . .

A librarian.

Now there is a job with millions of openings all over the country. I think I'll look a little closer at some of the other matches.

Seeing With Both Eyes

My grandfather used to have a lot of antiques around his house and one of my favorites that he actually let me play around with was the stereoscope. It was a device that allowed you to view images taken by special cameras that appeared to be three dimensional when viewed through the scope. It was a non-digital precursor to sensory immersion virtual-reality. It appeared three dimensional because it was taken by two cameras located about as far apart as the human eyes are. The stereoscope allowed you to combine the two slightly different pictures into a 3-d image.

We see in 3-d because we have two eyes located a couple of inches apart. We actually see two slightly different images seen by the perspective of each eye but our wonderful brain has the God-given capacity to combine these two slightly different pictures into a 3-d image.

Once I had pink-eye and had to cover one eye in order to ease the discomfort and it's amazing how different the world is when you only have one functioning eye. I had a very hard time judging distances; I would reach for items right in front of me and miss because I couldn't accurately judge how far away they were. Fortunately it was only for a couple of days.

Our two eyes give us a clear view of the world that a man with only one eye must function without.

Of course you knew all of this and you wonder what the point is.

Intellectually we should have two eyes as well. Rationality and Faith.

Some people view these as opposites and that the presence of one destroys the other. I find this idea to be absurd.

If you have faith without reason you could wind up as any given religious fanatic of any faith or sect, be it a Islamic terrorist that you can never reason with, a self-described psychic, or some of the more overly-simplistic schools of Christianity. Without reason faith becomes loose and dangerous, or simply non-productive.

Reason without faith is equally foolish and equally dangerous. Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao, etc all based their behavior on pure reason. Others sink into despair and Nihilism which are the logical conclusion of their mindset.

When faith and reason compliment each other and work together you see more and you see more clearly.

Faith and reason do not oppose each other but compliment each other. Faith and reason are the two eyes of the intellect.

A Little of This, A Little of That

Bond Tying Aaron's Record
It is a genuine accomplishment to even make the big-leagues and his record is impressive. But I'm of two minds about it. Steroids is cheating and yet, it's everywhere. Give him the record and note that it is chemically enhanced and keep Hammerin Hank's as the unenhanced record.

Living Naturally
There was a time when everything we ate was 100% natural and even our preservatives (such as they were) were natural. The vast bulk of what we ate were vegetables, meat was largely for special occasions. We practiced natural medicine and natural healing. Pollution was a local problem and not that serious (except in crowded cities). We didn't have cars polluting our air and no factories were pumping out waste.

Our life expectancy was about 40 years and (roughly) one baby in three survived to adulthood.

Someone needs to be careful about what they wish for.

Terrorism
A murder in Oakland and a couple of young men in Goose Creek, SC (not far from where my aunt lives). Not a lot is being said about it which, depending on the circumstances, might be a good thing (ie if the Gov't is acting responsibly on information that we don't have.) I do not believe these young men were naive youths that didn't realize what they were doing. Still I wonder how many other terrorist plots have been stopped without security forces sounding the trumpet.

I also wonder how many American Muslim's who are loyal to this country and its ideals, heard about the bridge in Minnesota collapsing and prayed "Don't let it be the work of Jihadists." as many others almost automatically assumed it would be.

Johnny Depp
As a political and social commenter he has the IQ of a banana. As an actor and entertainer, on the other hand, he is quite talented and one could almost call him a genius. I got some news of interest to me, though others may not care. I was looking to see if they were planning a boxed set for Pirates of the Caribbean and I discovered that he had just outright purchased the rights to Dark Shadows. One thing he and I share is a love of that old show and a long-time dream of his was to portray Barnabas. He is going to get that dream and I wish him luck and hope he does a good job.

Job Search
As you may know I am currently unemployed and am seeking work. I am filling out quite a few applications plus taking a few alternative routes. I will probably have to take a modest cut in pay from I was, unless I am very fortunate. I would appreciate all the prayers I can get. Thanks.

That's The Spirt!

A movie I have seen once and would like to see again was called To Be or Not To Be starring Mel Brooks who portrayed an actor just prior to WWII in a stage performance that made fun of Hitler.

Hitler: All I want is peace
Starts Singing
A little "peace" of Poland
A little "peace" of France
A little "peace" of Denmark
And I will sing and dance.
(or words to that effect - - - I am going on memory here.)

His version of the movie takes place in England but apparently there was an older version of the movie that took place in Poland. Anyway the English authorities try to shut him down because he is antagonizing Hitler and they don't want to do that. (Does this ring a bell anyone?)

Somebody in London has the right idea. Jihad the Musical.

It need not be said that the Muslims are up in arms about it. Too bad. If Christians have to put up with being mocked in the media Muslims need to learn to do the same.

Here is a clip from Jihad the Musical.

This is a musical I wouldn't mind seeing. I hope it comes to America though I don't think too many people in Hollywood would have the courage to make such a movie.

How Safe?

Is being 99% safe safe enough?

Depends.

You perform 100 heart transplants and 10 years later 99 of them are still alive you are outstanding.

If you go into battle and win with 99% of your troops still alive that's pretty good.

If you send 100 Apollo Missions to the moon and 99 make it back safely, it's kind of impressive.

If you make 100 cars and 99 of them have working brakes you might have a problem.

If you produce 100 hot dogs and one of them has a deadly strain of bacteria in it you have a real problem.

China is taking a lot of well-deserved heat because of some exports of theirs are unsafe and their response is that 99% of their products are safe.

That means if an American household buys two Chinese products a week, and a good number of Americans do, that means that household could possibly have bought something dangerous and not realizing it.

When it is your home and family, and you're not even aware of the problem, is 99% safe good enough?

China may look at its people as expendable but I don't. If a life is to be taken or sacrificed it needs to be for a good reason or at least what the person taking the risk believes is a good reason. We punish people who knowingly endanger innocent lives for personal profit and China needs to do the same.

Too many Chinese products are dangerous and if China wants to sell them here they had better do something about it. Actually they shouldn't even allow the sale of dangerous household products to their own people, let alone other nations.

Even dog food should be more than 99% safe.

Bush is Planning a Coup

Or he already did one.

One way or the other he is planning to end democracy in America.

It is time to think about the “unthinkable.”

The Bush Administration has both the inclination and the power to cancel the 2008 election.

The GOP strategy for another electoral theft in 2008 has taken clear shape, though we must assume there is much more we don’t know.

I'm not going to lose a lot of sleep over these paranoid ravings of the extreme left. But I started thinking as I read the screed. The GOP stole the 2000 election even though every recount, both official and unofficial came up with a Bush taking Florida -- One of the unofficial ones was done by CNN and the NYT (friends of neither Bush nor the GOP) and they painfully conceded that Bush did win.

They stole the Ohio electoral votes too.

Now they are going to steal the election in 2008.

OK! Let's suppose we did!!

What happened in 2006? Were their thieves off on vacation that day?

It is curious that even though there is evidence of considerable voter fraud in several states that went Democratic in the last election, the GOP is not screaming about the elections being stolen. I guess adults know and understand that they will lose elections as well as win them, especially when they fail to live up to their principles. (The main reason the GOP lost in 06 was because so many were discouraged by the failures of the GOP that they just stayed home on election day.) The left believes that history that history has given them a birth right to govern and it is impossible for them to lose an honest election.

I find in curious though that they are anticipating a loss in 2008 and so they are putting out pre-emptive accusations of theft and cheating. I thought the Democrats had this one in the bag. Of course the fact that so many of comments say that 9-11 was an inside job tells me a lot about these people.

Here's a real beauty from the comments

Since Bush recinded Habeus Corpus, anyone in the USA can be picked up and placed under indefinate detention.

You can’t vote while you are under detention.

Expect a mass detention of Democrats prior to the election.

THAT’s what the new camps are for.

Several of the comments mention concentration camps being built? I don't know of any.

The "Reality Based Community". They would be entertaining if they weren't serious.
